 Mrs. Peterson back
I am Jan Peterson. Last year I had the privilege of directing the Christmas Program for Parkview Christian Academy. This year I not only directed the Christmas Program but I am also the Kindergarten teacher. I grew up in Aurora, where I met and married my high school sweetheart (right after graduation). Together we raised six incredible boys. When my youngest entered kindergarten I began my college education. For the next several years, I whittled away at my classes in between car pooling, meal preparation, football, basketball, and baseball games…and laundry (with six boys, you can only imagine!). My children have been and still are the joy of my life. I am also the proud grandparent of a two and one half year old grandson. As an Early Childhood Educator, I am most passionate about being a part of the miracle of reading. It thrills me to see a group of children begin to recognize letters and put sound to them. They then begin blending the sounds together to make a word. Finally, they put words together to create a sentence. They are so excited and possess a sense of accomplishment and confidence. It is special to be a part of that experience in a child's life. I am also a member of Grace Bible Church in Aurora, where I serve on the Praise and Worship team, Women's ministries and have led the children's choir.
