Mr. Apker, Principal back
My name is Jim Apker and I am the Head of School at Parkview Christian Academy. My hometown is Kenosha, WI, and, yes, I do bleed green and gold! My educational background includes a BA in Bible from Central Bible College, Springfield, MO, and an MA in New Testament Studies from Wheaton Graduate School. I also have training in the field of aviation and linguistics, as my goal from my teenage years was to serve on the foreign mission field. My family and I did spend 13 years as missionaries with Wycliffe Bible Translators, four of which were in Nigeria, West Africa. Returning Stateside, I taught junior high for seven years at Calvary Christian School in Naperville, IL and continue to serve as an adjunct professor at Judson University. My interests include piano and guitar, fishing and any sports with my son, Caleb, and discussing Tozer, Lewis, and other areas of theology with my daughter, Rebekah. It is also a great joy to have a little granddaughter, Eliana Grace. My whole world brightens when she runs up to me with outstretched arms calling “Papa!”
Now in my third year at Parkview, I am starting to get a sense of what God wants to do with this school. I have watched with amazement as He has granted us favor in opening up both a preschool as well as a high school, but most amazing is the staff He has assembled here…men and women called of God and committed to seeing young lives impacted with the power of the Gospel and equipped to be leaders in the world. It is exciting to be a part of what God is doing here at Parkview and I look forward with great anticipation to what lies ahead.
